If you have taken over 20 units of economics, have an overall 3.0 and
a 3.0 in your economics classes, then you qualify to become a member of ODE,
the Economics Honor Society.
Stop by the Economics Department office (SBS 327) to complete a membership form and pay the initiation fee of $30. All current and new members are invited to attend the ODE initiation banquet on Friday, May 19, 2006 at 6:00 P.M. in the Sycamore Room.
Since this is a reception honoring you, you are encouraged to bring along family and friends. While the Department will pay for your dinner, each guest is asked to pay $15.
Founded in 1915 by Roger Commons and Frank Taussig, ODE is one of the largest academic honor societies in the United States. The Society encourages the advancement of the discipline and excellence in economic scholarship as well as a devotion to the scholarly effort to make freedom from want and privation a reality.
The Economics Department at CSUSB, sponsor
of the Alpha Delta chapter of ODE, encourages eligible students to join. Upon
joining, the member will receive a membership scroll, and a one-year subscription
to the American Economist, the official journal of ODE. In addition, members
are invited to the annual ODE banquet.
For more information, stop by
the Department Office or call Dr. Charkins (537-5553) or Monica Villarruel (537-5511).
